Hi r/GirlGamers!
I'm a 30 y/o woman who has always wanted to release her own game. I finally took the plunge and in October 2023, wrote the first line of code for my game. Now nearly 8 months later, my game Fishlets will be releasing May 13th on Steam! I'm super nervous but also excited all at once and can't wait to share my game with the world and especially other women gamers!
I have been developing the game pretty much entirely solo. I've done the art, coding, marketing, community outreach… you name it. I did get some help from my fiancé for the music as I unfortunately have no skills in producing music lol.
If anyone has questions for me on what development was like, questions about the game, or anything else let me know! (:
With all that out the way, here's some links and info on my game. If you're interested in the game, consider Wishlisting as it helps me get more visibility in the Steam algorithm. 🩷

Nice, very reminiscent of Fish Tycoon.
What a lovely game concept! Congratulations and good luck on your launch. ❤️
Awww, as a big aquarium/fish lover and as a woman dev myself, I think this is awesome. You should be proud to have done all the aspects of making and marketing it yourself 👏 Will be wishlisting it, and good luck on your launch! 🐠
Stop this looks so cute!! 😭
I guess my wishlist will just keep getting longer lolol
Also congrats!! Making a game by yourself is crazy impressive!!
Heh, now this is a game my wife could play without getting motion sick.
I love fish but do not have it in me to properly care for real fish. This looks so cute!! Adding it to my wishlist for sure.
Congratulations on the release ><
