It’s kinda messed up that Bloodborne is one of the most discussed video games ever and yet I’ve seen exactly *one* video about its very overt themes of femininity and motherhood. Like the game’s not fucking subtle about it.
Bloodborne is one of the most important games. The amount of symbolism in the game is impressive. Pain, Suffering, Religion, Feminity, Freedom , Mind etc All in a unique way. There’s a reason why 100s of Bloodborne lore videos are available on youtube. A single npc intercation may reflect a long, maybe familiar story. Whoever involved in the writing and design of the game, seriously wow.
Except for the fact that Sony has gone full mask-off with their contempt for PC gaming, I would love it for this game to get the Demon Souls treatment.
I remember the sound of a crying baby in one of the boss fights and when the baby stopped bc you killed the boss, I always felt really sad.
