A lot of the people who made Morrowind what it was just aren’t at the company anymore sadly. I think a really illuminating piece on why Bethesda is how it is now is the expose on [Fallout 76 awful launch.](https://kotaku.com/bethesda-zenimax-fallout-76-crunch-development-1849033233) it’s very similar to the Anthem Bioware and Cyberpunk CDPR problems. Horrible miss management, an air of incredible arrogance at the top, intense vile crunch culture and more.
Yeah this one hurts. Loved magic in Oblivion and making my own spells. Skyrims Conjuration just wasn’t the same and I couldn’t make cool shit anymore, such a shame to throw out a good system even if it needed some tweaks.
Honestly, I think Bethesda fans are probably the worst gaming fans I’ve ever encountered, and considering I’ve had such horrible experiences with Bioware fans that it basically ruined Garrus and Tali as characters for me because their fans were just nasty to fans of other characters, that’s saying something. Bethesda fans have reached the Star Wars level of complaining now that they’ve reached the deliberately not comprehending what someone said to hate them and call for them to be fired. Bethesda’s lead writer, who I didn’t know from a hole in the ground prior to the launch of Starfield has reached Kathleen Kennedy level of hatred because he once commented on writing with one of the most basic tents of writing and Bethesda “fans” took that as proof he’s a lazy, hack writer and should be fired.
I hate Todd Coward. He is a liar, who is more of a salesman than a game designer. Lies about features and lets people find out after they have already given his company money that the game is garbagio. Ie starfield. And usually needs to be fixed by modders while actively working against the modding community. And the fact that he introduced paid mods into skyrim is something I’ll never forgive him for. I had over 400 hours on a ps4 save, and it won’t work anymore because of him. Because the patch intentionally broke modded saves. While adding a tiered system for modders. Where they get royalties for their mods. Meaning he wants to make money from gamers fixing his broken game. And adding content so Bethesda doesn’t have to. Ik this is old news. But I’m still mad
I grew up playing Daggerfall and nothing they’ve done since has quite hit the same spot 😄
Total nostalgia obviously but I do miss the freedom of those early Elder Scrolls games

I just want a farming sin style Fallout game kkthx. All the same action and mechanics but let me fix these damn towns and settlements.
Hi, it’s me. I’m the reason they cut custom spells. I hate spellcrafting and I am glad they threw out that sucker in Skyrim. Blame me.
Morrowind is hard for me to get into, just don’t like the whole wierd combat and outdated graphics and lack of voice acting in quests
