  1. I just don’t get this. Like, I understand how awkward it can be to have a human body not respond like a human body since human’s are squishy but all this post says is “We have no women on staff and very little experience interacting with women in non-sexual contexts.”

Jiggle physics is the dumbest thing because like, are these women not wearing bras? And their boobs are that big? And perky enough to need to the extremely specific type of jiggle physics that would really only accurately simulate and extremely small sub-sect of women? Like, come on. Dial that shit down to like 1% and apply that to all human soft surfaces (yes even the men) and that’s probably the most accurate thing they could do.

I just don’t get why this needs literally any development time or how a dev can even justify it.

  2. After this was posted and people called them out on it, they then posted a half-assed apology saying that they had apparently “received concerns about the female player model’s breast physics in the past”, hence they sought community feedback.

Link to OOP’s comment about how their community manager doubled down when people questioned it in the discord:

  3. I’m just wondering if they know what the majority of the buying demographic for cozy games is. I’m just saying, the venn diagram between ‘people who like cozy games’ and ‘people who want jiggling boob physics in games’ is a very small one indeed. They are torching a lot of potential sales with this, and I don’t think that the tradeoff of the new audience that they’ll attract will be worth it, though admittedly I could be wrong.

Anyways. I’m just glad I know what game to *not* buy know. I’m remembering the name of this literally so I can tell people not to get it if they ask about it.

  4. I honestly just want any game developers who claim this is about realism to hire reference actors….. You can get them real real cheap especially if they’re non union recent grads. If you can say you observed someone going thru the motions(you could also get many body types still for cheap) and still somehow need a vedirct on boob fucking physics let’s go.

  5. I’m not sure if I said this here or elsewhere but posting it….I have straight up been and actor/model where I acted out shit so animators can observe my movements(and every jiggle). None of them came off like this. And there was some boob jiggle in the final cuts sometimes but it was fucking realistic and balanced to other jiggle. And most of the time friends could identify who I was by my gait showing up more than my jiggle (or not jiggle… There are robots that walk like me in cartoons lol)

  6. My issue isn’t even that they want to put jiggle physics in the game. My problem is why tf would you post it on social media and ask US like that’s the appropriate thing to do??? Just put it in the game and none of us would care but asking the community that makes them seem out of touch, inappropriate, and disgusting.

  7. If only there were consulting firms you could contract to give you input on hard questions like this or on if you should post about it on social media. Could name the company something like Saccharine Infant Inc.

  8. I had not even heard of this game until now.

I have been enjoying Sun Haven, but I have been looking for other farming games. I’m glad that I know now that I can skip this one and just give Stardew Valley another try.

  9. Right now I’m trying to figure out which type of game would actually benefit from body physics. And by benefit I mean, actively making the game better, by for example increasing immerson or the fun factor in general.

For instance, I know fighting games likeTekken, Street Fighter and Soulcalibur having physics for at least breasts (only naming these three because that’s the only ones I know for certain have jiggle phyaics). But the thing is: You don’t even have the time to look at it, unless you’re watching someone else’s gameplay. More often than not you barely get 15 frames (about 1/10th to 2/10ths of a second) to react. You can’t tell me you’re watching your character’s tits during that time.

Probably the only games where body physics are needed, are erotic/pornographic games. And quite honestly I personally wouldn’t call these games, but that might be a needless discussion for another day.

  10. This whole thing is just so upsetting, and disappointing.

And the thing is, a small amount of boob jiggle isn’t inherently gross or sexualizing, as a woman with a naturally bigger chest, I can attest that if I jog or run, my boobs bounce quite a bit, so it can be realistic (emphasis on can). But that’s obviously not their intentions.

They were being gross, having a poll to figure out how horny their fanbase is?? Major ew. And don’t even get me started on the replies by the cm and ceo. It’s also concerning that they prioritized asking about jiggle physics in boobs, instead of realistic hair movement, or realistic clothing movement, and you’d think that if they were actually doing it for realism, then they’d also add jiggle physics to masculine body parts too. BG3 did that, and everyone was happier for it.

The only good thing to come out of this nonsense, was the other dev teams poking fun at their stupidity, their posts were actually very funny and endearing.

  11. Well, a part of me wants to give them the benefit of the doubt. Breasts shouldn’t inherently be sexualized, they are a part of the human body like any other. So having them behave realistically shouldn’t be sexualizing in and of itself. Most breast jiggle physics, however, are… not that? They’re not an attempt to make the breasts more realistic, they are there explicitly to make them more arousing and that is the tea.

What gaming company even makes decisions on game physics based on a Twitter poll btw?

  12. Dicks and balls are not so exposed that jiggling is plausible, unlike breasts, where at least some jiggling is to be expected. I mean it’s NOT a porn game. Because of that only breast jiggling is plausable (if not exaggerated, and the devs intend to NOT exaggerate it) The twitter post by the devs was just a joke and not serious at all. They said that and apologied for that joke. But they are not removing the jiggling physics. Pretty based IMO.
