I had never really thought about building my own computer before a couple of weeks ago. I was working with a student laptop I had bought pre-pandemic for graphic design, and it’s an ok little computer, but insufficient for most gaming. It also had a lot of frustrating quirks. Long story short, I got fed up with it’s shortcomings.
So I got it into my head that I needed a new computer. The research phase was pretty overwhelming, but many videos later, I finally figured out what I wanted. The machine I’ve built is over powered for the kind of games I tend to play, but I didn’t mind spending a little extra for future proofing and just didn’t really want to worry about compatibility for the next several years.
The build process was also really frustrating to me to be honest. Everyone says it’s so easy and to just read instructions… π. The problem I kept running into is that many of the instructions I ran into were fairly cryptic. Also I was really nervous about breaking anything. I finally found a good build video that used my specific case, so that was a life saver.
I finally finished and was delighted when I pressed the power button and it just… Worked! It’s fast and it’s pretty and I love it! I made it! π Anyway I just wanted to share, because no one in my life quite shares my enthusiasm. I mean, they’re happy for me and all, but they just don’t get it lol
I have that same plushie π Would you mind sharing the video that helped you? I just bought a prebuilt gaming pc but I want to upgrade a few things soon and I need some help.
