Me after the first few episodes of the Fallout TV show.

I was so hyped for it and it’s soooo good. Just the right amount of weird and gory, the right mix of serious and funny, bizarre and ridiculous. I love it. They even got such tiny details right – the sound the vault doors make, the hacking thing on terminal screens, the typical franchise stuff like brands, magazines and the color scheme. And the power armor looks amazing. The opening scene gave me absolute chills. Good stuff!

  1. I’m absolutely in love with this show. I binged the whole thing in two sittings. I’ve been a Fallout fan for almost 20 years and I think they really did it justice. The sets and music were spot on, the actors were awesome. Everything was so perfect. That also seriously may be one of my favorite opening scenes for a tv series ever.

  2. I finished it in a few days because I only had Prime for a week and I both wish I’d been able to space it out a little more and that there was a season 2 already. It was so good! Ella Purnell is absolutely fantastic as Lucy as well.

Hopefully the quality keeps up throughout the show but, wow, we really have been given such a treat.

  3. My favorite side effect of this is that we at Fallout 76 got a huge Influx of new players. I love watching the newbie dots move around in almost a line on the map as they are following the main quest at the start.

  4. When it dropped on Wednesday night at 9pm for me, I just ended up binging the whole show in one session, and ended up going to bed at like 5 or 6 am Thursday morning because it was so good. Do you have a favorite character?

  5. I was pleasantly surprised, though I’m only four episodes in. The production is remarkably faithful, (mostly to Fallout 4 design, but still,) and the story feels quintessentially Fallout-esque and still intriguing. Also a great cast.

My only significant complaints are the unsettlingly gruesome degree of the violence (technically consistent with the games but it’s a fundamentally different matter in a live action production) and the fact that California seems to have backslid into a state of apocalyptic chaos better suited for a few decades post-war, not 220 years; Fallout’s reluctance to move on from its Mad Max aesthetics is eventually going to rob every story of meaning if nothing and nobody in the wastelands ever actually improves anything for anyone. (I *am,* however, extremely glad that this iteration of the wasteland is every bit as green and alive as it should be, rather than every tree being inexplicably dead.)

  6. It’s so good! I’ve never really been interested in Fallout, always thought it looked a bit empty and void of life, so I was super surprised that the show based on it has so many great characters!

Only 3 episodes in but excited to keep watching.

  7. I adored the show! Maximus was super annoying to me but by the end he was much better. Lucy was super cute. LOVE the Ghoul. The actor just steals every scene. The music and all the random actors I wasn’t expecting were so good. I’m waiting for friends to watch it so I can talk about it with them haha.

I really want a side adventure for Thaddeus next season!

  8. I loved the production, acting and characters, but I didnt like how a lot of what made the west coast unique is gone now. It feels just like the east coast with cowboy stuff. Id rather the franchise just left the enclave, kept the NCR around as a powerful nation and evolve the remains of the west coast brotherhood story more instead of just bringing all the east coast stuff over. IDK it just made me less excited to see more of the west coast tbh.

Also seemed to be some just weird minor inconsistencies like the time when the bombs fell being wrong and nuclear bombs not being that powerful compared to real life.
