I wish they were just honest. Text included.

Isekai Slow Life is a h̶a̶r̶e̶m̶ farming simulator where they lean heavily on "Isekai narrative" and "gather diverse partners" to simply mean build your sexy fantasy harem while gardening. They're advertised like it's a down to earth relaxing game Animal Crossing.

I came across their reddit ad while scrolling and had to check it out. The first 3 images are the Ad, zoomed in on their alluring bodies and tails, and the rest are from the play store. All the while telling us how relaxing and serious their game is.

It's not as explicit as a true eroge, but it's still a mature/adult themed game and should be framed as such.

If they want to be cute sure, say instead "Indulge in a world of leisure (and forbidden fantasy) in Isekai Slow Life!" Or "Farm with enchanting (and flirty) maidens"

Anime/Isekai shouldn't be sneaky codes for adult rating to sexualize women in their content. They blur the lines and normalize it this way.

It's also weird seeing this on Reddit. I like to downvote ads as I go by them anyway, but I never would have expected an adult game to pop up.

  1. This is like the lowkey variant of that rape your sick sister game that was marketed on Steam as an RPG adventure type of a story game where you “move to a quaint little village” with “charming characters” and “go on adventures” to “take care of your sick sister” and had typical RPG/visual novel type pictures up and a fancy long info page that was all about making friends and discovering secrets and NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING about anything nsfw, and then the community tags “hentai” and reviews like “oh yeah totally played this for the story” and then a post in this sub like “please for the love of god report this game.”

Is there a reason why they’re trying to hide it now? Does it get them off to trick people, potentially children, into playing their hentai shit?

  2. Classic pandering. As a guy, I’m so desensitised to this kind of lame advertising I don’t even notice it anymore. By the way, this is objectively intended for kids, regardless of the underlying themes. Children, especially pubescent boys, are easy prey when it comes to these situations.

  3. While I’m a little confused about your post, especially the comment about Genshin and Honkai since they’re not actual harem games nor have sex nor directly sexualize their characters in game, I think I get what you’re talking about – I completely agree mobile ads are often downright misleading and generic.

I’ll be honest the ads of this game never fooled me. Especially I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the first few pictures which make it pretty clear what kind of game it is, like you said some sort of Harem gatherer – I assumed with the point of breeding or marrying with them.

That said, mobile ads are absolutely misleading. And it sucks. I have probably seen the same ad modified to fit 4 different games. The kind where you are asked to “help” or “leave,” some woman in the ad. The ones where they fail horribly at whatever the puzzle is to make you join and do it right. And straight up misrepresenting actual gameplay. Sorry this one got you, I assume it was pretty gross.

  4. to add to the ick factor every ad I’d get from these guys was cooking clips including original audio lifted straight from various anime movies (the one I recognized was Garden of Words), with whatever random music they decided to play over it – clearly using the original clips without permission lol. I assumed this whole game was a scam tbh

  5. I love the game, but it makes me so upset there are only 3 male family (lovers). Like, hello??? Female players get nothing?? Gay players get nothing??? I want Maxim and Brotein as family! For sexual content, most you’ll get is an innuendo and big boobs or a big butt (thankfully) and the younger looking characters aren’t sexualised (Like Prim and the dragon girl for example, they’re so adorable) thankfully. Only dishonest thing about the ads I’d say is the one where they said there were over 10 lovers you could unlock and they used Grayce (a FELLOW, not FAMILY) as an example which sucks as a female/male attracted player

  6. Yeahhh unfortunately for some, the word “cute” for feminine characters in anime/games is interchangeable with “sexually attractive”. At this point, I don’t think it’s about honestly. Some people truly don’t mentally distinguish between the 2 concept and approaches “relaxing”, etc with similar attitude. Isekai lately thrives on this escapism so the marketing is technically less deceptive but more expected *if* you’re intended audience.

Anyways, if you can, use an ad blocker. You can add exemptions if you want to support any particular creators, or if you trust a site not to give you intrusive and/or inappropriate ads.
